Six More Weeks of Wintery Weather
With what seemed like a very mild winter, Michiganders looked forward to early spring. On February 2nd, with much anticipation, a particular groundhog emerged from its burrow and saw its shadow.
Que the smiles from snow lovers and the sighs from those missing their tans, Punxsutawney Phil of Pennsylvania predicted six more weeks of winter. When looking back on past years, Punxsutawney Phil has a success rate of about 39% which is enough for optimists to believe an early spring may still occur.
So whether you believe Phil or not, the choice is yours, but the attraction is always a good moment and fun to watch. Though, for any further consolation a member of the “inner circle” stated, “After winter, you’re looking forward to one of the most beautiful and brightest springs you’ve ever seen.”
