CHS Meets Christmas: Holiday Spirit Week
As we approached the last stretch before winter break, everyone was trying to make it through their last couple days of school. To bring some holiday cheer to the stressed students, our very own Student Council members put together a Christmas spirit week.
Starting off the week, students were encouraged to dress in Christmas pajamas. Monday had the most participants, as many people have Christmas pajamas at their house already. This was followed up by holiday day on Tuesday, where the object of the theme was to dress in anything Christmas related that was available to the students.
All decked out in Christmas wear, junior Natalia Quigley said “I plan to participate in every theme we have this week. On Monday I wore Christmas pajama pants, but today I stepped up my game. I wore this Christmas themed hockey shirt paired with my Christmas tree earrings. I also wore my socks that have Santa all over them. I can’t wait for the rest of the week, and it is so exciting that we are able to do something fun before break.”
Wednesday came through with Santa hat day followed by white out on Thursday. White out day improved participation, as many already own white clothes, which they wore to represent their excitement for the snow-filled break ahead.
Finally, we finished off the week with ugly sweater day. This day was a favorite for many, such as senior Destinee Weedon, who said “I am most excited for Friday’s theme of ugly sweater day. I already have my sweater picked out and I think that this is the best theme that we could’ve had to end our week off.”
On the flip side, there were also students who did not participate. When asked why they didn’t join in on spirit week, junior Meadow Neubauer-Keyes stated that “Many of the themes we had I did not have anything to wear at my house and I did not want to have to go out and buy stuff.”
Whether you participated in this week’s spirit theme or not, students overall enjoyed the opportunity to have fun by showcasing their holiday spirit during the last week of school in 2021.
