Recently, Eliud Kipchoge beat the world record for fastest marathon in one hour, 59 minutes and 40 seconds. Here in Caledonia, the high school cross country teams won the OK Red conference title, as varsity boys and girls both took first place at the meet.

Brendon Standhardt claimed, “We’ve had a really good season so far. . . Jamin has been a complete GOAT (Greatest Of All Time).” Caledonia has not only become conference champions, but junior Jamin Thompson has also become the second fastest man in Caledonia history, with a 5K (3.1 miles) at 14 minutes and 30 seconds. Jamin’s teammates and friends are shocked and extremely proud of Jamin for reaching his goal. He says his next step is to become Caledonia’s fastest.

The cross country team’s final meet is Thursday, October 17th at River Side.
